We will be introducing a new, cheaper membership option on 20 October, and changing our existing membership options and fee levels. This change coincides with the launch of the Landscape Exchange, or LEX, a new initiative for sharing landscape research and practice across boundaries.

LEX is an online multimedia platform where our members around the world can share their thoughts, ideas and work, for exchange and collaboration. It includes podcasts, videos, images and writing, and will be fully accessible to the public.

To enable as many members to contribute to LEX as possible, we wish to remove financial barriers to membership. Following a trustee decision earlier in 2020, membership fees will be based on if you live in an OECD-member country or not.

For renewing members, fees will either stay the same or will be cheaper. No fees have increased.

The new membership categories, effective 20 October 2020, will be:

Member

This new, cheaper, option will allow members to contribute their work to LEX, apply for grants through our annual Research Fund, establish or join a Landscape Research Network, stand for election as an LRG trustee, and receive discount event tickets.

Member concession (student, unwaged, retired)£14£7

In addition to all the benefits above, members will have online access to our journal Landscape Research, and can choose to receive paper copies at no extra cost. This option most closely mirrors our current membership levels, where members have access to the journal (by post and via the Members’ Area of the LRG website).

For a full list of the differences and benefits, please see the updated Membership Terms below, which will come into effect when we launch on 20 October. This list and terms will also be available on the Membership page then onwards.

If you have any questions, please contact LRG’s Membership & Communications Manager: sarah.hobbs@landscaperesearch.org.

We hope you’ll get involved with LEX!
