Arbeitskreis Landschaftsforschung
The Arbeitskreis Landschaftsforschung is our German-speaking network for academics and professionals working in the realm of landscapes. It’s a space to engage and form relationships through Landscape Research projects and discussions within your German-speaking region.
purpose
- Strengthen cooperation among German-speaking landscape researchers, as well as with members of relevant international communities
- Support exchanges about topics, theories and methods of landscape research
- Organise events, which can result in joint publications
- Facilitate the dissemination of information on events and other relevant developments such as conferences and upcoming legislation
- Provide information on funding programmes and potential cooperation partners.

Events
At least one seminar is organised by Arbeitskreis Landschaftsforschung each year. To be notified of upcoming events, register here.
Their 11th workshop was held at the Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences at the Detmold School of Design on 10 & 11 October 2024. The theme this year was Strategies, Processes, and Actors of Climate Change. For more details, including a full report of the workshop, click here.
The next workshop is being held on 8 – 10th October 2025 at the Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development on the theme Suburban, Metropolitan Landscapes – Transformation, Conflict, Co-Production, Sustainability?
