We are delighted to announce that Emily Shakespeare has joined the Landscape Research Group’s team as Communications Manager. She will be working with the Trustees and members, as well as the wider landscape community, in promoting and communicating the organisation’s operations as it continues to grow.

“Originally from Coventry in the UK, I have moved around from the Côte d’Azur, to London, Paris and then back to London before settling in a small seaside town in County Waterford in the Republic of Ireland.  I studied European Studies and French at University of East London, followed by an MA in Contemporary History and Politics at Birkbeck College, University of London.  I am currently a final year PhD Candidate at Waterford Institute of Technology, creating a landscape biography of a parish located in the Comeragh Mountains in South East Ireland.  I place a strong emphasis on transdisciplinarity within my work, keen that research into landscapes is accessible for all audiences, particularly the communities that live and work in the regions we research.

I am delighted to be joining the Landscape Research Group, and am excited to be able to play a part in continuing its development and growth, promoting cross-border landscape research and collaboration.”
