Landscape Research Group (LRG) is partnering with the School of Landscape Architecture at Beijing Forestry University (BFU) for the 2025 International Landscape Architecture Symposium (ILAS), taking place from 24–26 October 2025 in Beijing.

This year’s theme, Sustainability · Inclusivity · Evidence-Based Science: Towards Resilient Futuresreflects a shared commitment to reimagining landscape architecture as a discipline that addresses the ecological, social and scientific challenges of our time.

Keynote speeches will focus on three core themes:

  • Ecological sustainability and environmental resilience
  • Social inclusivity and landscape universality
  • Evidence-based innovative pathways in landscape design

Among the keynote speakers are members of the LRG Board, whose diverse expertise and global outlook reflect the collaborative, international spirit of the event.

We are especially pleased to offer complimentary in-person attendance for all LRG members, as part of our commitment to supporting inclusive and accessible learning across our global community. Members should contact us directly to register interest in attending.

Crucially, this event marks an important opportunity to amplify Chinese voices within our growing international landscape community and to deepen cross-cultural dialogue on sustainability, design and environmental futures. With contributions from leading journals including Landscape Architecture and Sustainability, and our own Landscape Research, the conference offers a space for  global exchange and collaboration.
