The Global Landscape Research Network connects researchers and practitioners working across multiple regions worldwide, including areas not currently represented by a dedicated regional network. It provides a flexible space for cross-regional exchange and supports the incubation of emerging landscape research communities.
The network acts as a hub for dialogue between regions, enabling participants to share perspectives, identify common challenges and develop collaborative ideas that span geographic boundaries. It is particularly suited to researchers working internationally, those whose work spans multiple regions, and participants interested in helping develop new regional or thematic initiatives.
Activities may include informal discussions, cross-regional exchanges, collaborative conversations and opportunities to share research, events and publications. The network is intentionally light-touch and adaptive, designed to evolve in response to participant interests and emerging areas of landscape research.
The network also provides a pathway for establishing new regional activity. Participants interested in developing new networks, supporting emerging groups, or connecting activity across regions are encouraged to contact LRG to explore opportunities.
Participation is open to anyone interested in landscape research worldwide. English is used as a practical working language, with contributions in other languages welcomed where possible.
This recording captures the Landscape Research Group’s 2025 Research Showcase, held online on 12 December 2025. The session highlights a range of approaches, including legal geography and decolonial theory, oral histories and archival research, digital heritage and AI-enabled interpretation, and spatial analysis using remote sensing and machine learning.
This video brings together international contributors to reflect on landscape research, leadership and collaboration across diverse geographic contexts. Contributors highlight the importance of building connections across institutions and regions, supporting emerging voices and developing collaborative initiatives.
This online event recording features a selection of projects funded through LRG’s 2022 Research Fund, Empire and Landscape Dialogue, and 2023 Research Fund, Landscapes and Care. The session will be hosted by Prof. Merham Keleg, LRG Trustee and Research Coordinator.
